Why We Started an Indiegogo Campaign

In my 35 years on this earth, I have spent a lot of time searching for that thing that would let me know why I was put here.  What was my purpose?  How can I leave the world a better place than I found it?  I wanted to know that I was doing good in this world.

Holl & Lane is my purpose.

Since starting this magazine three years ago, there has been nothing thrown at me on this journey that has made me question that.  Times have been hard, I've thought about quitting numerous times, but I always knew this was the point of my life.  I was made to share the stories of women from around the world.

We've talked about this before, but running a magazine is not only exhausting and draining, but it's also incredibly expensive.  One issue costs over $5000 just to print and ship.  This doesn't include any of the behind the scenes costs to make the issue happen (like the software, design time, gathering of information, and so much more).  We are printing the bare minimum each time and yet, it's still $5000.

We dream of doing really big things with this magazine.  We want to connect women from around the world in new and exciting ways.  But in order to do that, we need help.  And that is where the Indiegogo campaign comes in.  Through this campaign, we're hoping to raise enough money to cover nearly a full year of printing and shipping issues.  If that money is covered, we'd be able to use the money from sales of the issues to donate copies to women's shelters, to host retreats and in-person meetups, to donate money to the charities that mean something to us.  Not to mention, it'll be reassurance to us that our magazine is needed, worthwhile, and special.

I know that money can be tight.  I know that $18,000 is a lot of money.  But I also know that we have an incredibly loyal community of readers who believe in our mission.  And it is to those of you that I ask - will you please help us?  Every little bit counts.

$5 not only gets us closer to our goal, but it's you standing up saying "I BELIEVE IN HOLL & LANE".

Please visit our campaign.  Learn a bit more about why we're doing it.  And donate if you're able.  Please help us continue bringing you this magazine that has been called a lifeline.  We believe in you and your stories, and we're hoping you believe in us, too.
