The Collective

Celebrating the Messiness of Being a Woman

The Collective is an intimate group experience covering the various complex areas of being a woman.

What is The Collective?

The Collective is six-week immersive, intimate group program covering all of the areas that make us women - the hard parts, the fun parts, and everything in between. I want us to come together and celebrate everything about who we are, while also personally growing in new and exciting ways.

With each new Collective program, we’ll be diving deep into one specific area that makes up who we are as women.

This program is hosted by Sarah Hartley, founder of The Kindred Voice, and certified confidence coach.

Testimonials

  • Sarah’s leadership was inspiring as she took us on a journey into gratitude

The Collective on Gratitude was a very powerful community-based experience in which, as individuals and as a group, we explored experiences, things, and people for which we are grateful. But it was more than that… Sarah provided us with emails with questions and writing prompts to go deeper, along with thoughts and insights that I had not considered before. In the community we delved more thoroughly into conversation, sharing comments, pictures, and resources while developing and strengthening our gratitude practice. Sarah’s leadership was inspiring as she took us on a journey into gratitude, having us list everyday things for which to be grateful, as well as more extraordinary things for which to be grateful.

  • I never could have guessed how much of an impact being in this collective would have on me

I never could have guessed how much of an impact being in this collective would have on me. I grew to feel quite bonded with the women in the group. The sense of community and support I felt was a huge relief and frankly, something I really needed. There was something so powerful about working through some of my own inner work in conjunction with other women doing the same. I discovered some deep commonalities that I share with others that I never imagined anyone but myself experience. And I can honestly say, when our time was over something has shifted within myself. My self-awareness has increased as has my self-compassion. The group work and individual work we are encouraged to do combine so nicely together to create a sense of power and strength within. I just can’t recommend these sessions enough.

  • The Kindred Collective was completely different

I have been a long time fan of the work The Kindred Voice does, but based on previous online communities I had been a part of, I was hesitant to join another one. They were often overwhelming or felt self serving, with members taking more than they were giving. Spoiler alert: The Kindred Collective was completely different.

Not only did I enjoy conversing and growing with the other members, who were open and supportive, but it made me incredibly inflective of my own relationship with gratitude - where I struggle, where it comes easily, the work I can do to become even stronger in feeling grateful.

 The Format

  • This is a six week, immersive and intimate group program.

  • We will have a fun pre-start group call to get to know one another and discuss our goals for the six weeks.

  • You’ll receive lessons each Monday morning that will be our focus for the week.

  • You’ll have a workbook to work through each of the lessons plus “homework” to help you take actionable steps.

  • We’ll have “hot seat” options so that we can work through YOUR specific areas where you need support.

  • And naturally there will be a private community for us to grow and learn together.

Who is The Collective for?

The Collective is for women of any age who are feeling like it’s time to make a change in their lives.

  • Are you struggling to handle the negative inner critic that’s holding you back in your life?

  • Are you having a hard time appreciating what you bring to the world?

  • Do you want to focus on yourself for once and figure out what makes you happy?

  • Do you want to take active steps to being more present in your life?

Then The Collective is for you. This six week program was built out of my love for coaching women and proving to you that YOU ARE ENOUGH.

Testimonials

  • The Collective is about learning and connection

The Collective is a chance to go deep into a specific topic in a safe, supportive, friendly community of like-minded women to learn more about yourself and your beliefs and move forward through any negative or limiting beliefs relating to said specific topic. My goal is to be supportive to the other women in the collective while, at the same time, examining my own thoughts and beliefs about the specific topics, and deeply exploring how to change any negative or limiting beliefs surrounding the topics. The collective is about learning and connection.

  • I fully credit this collective for getting me through this

Yesterday I had to fight to get my dad to come on the phone and talk to me and the whole thing left me feeling pretty upset. It brought up a lot of my “not good enough” feelings and fears. I started to get worked up but I noticed it happening and instead, I did a quick run through of things I know to be true and then I reminded myself how many people totally love me and that enough-ness isn’t really dependent on my dad’s feelings about me. Anyway, I worked through this thing in about 30 minutes. Normally I’d still be upset today, and probably for another week, stewing over it and making myself super upset. I’m not saying I feel perfect or anything. My relationship with my dad still stings and causes pain and will continue to, I’m sure. I am saying however, that this time, I didn’t let the hurt feelings and all the stuff get stuck on to things I use to define my worthiness. And I fully credit this collective for getting me through this.

  • Using advice from the collective

So with the advice from the collective, I have decided that every Saturday morning I am going to write in my Kindred journal about what was good that week and what was bad. Then I am going to think about it and how I can fix it or how it was fixed or basically just try to turn it into a positive. I also purged my closet this morning again. And I am no longer going to use Target trips or shopping trips in general to make me feel better about myself or life. Bad feelings are temporary and I need to deal with them and help them pass instead of getting an instant fix. I am also going to work on not using food as my comfort and BFF. I just had to share that with you.

FAQs

Let’s answer the questions you have about The Collective. Have more questions? Email Sarah at kindrededitor@gmail.com.

  • This is totally up to you. On my end I’ll be sending a lesson on Monday of each week for you to read through on your own time. Within the lesson we’ll also have some “homework” including some action items and writing prompts. This is simply to get you taking action to make changes in your life. But all of that will be down on your own time as well. In addition, I’ll have discussion questions happening in our private group during the week. You can check into this as much or as little as you’d like. Typically when I run these programs I encourage people to check into the group at least twice per week so that you can also support our other members and get to know them.

Ideally 2 hours per week: Read through the lessons on Monday, check in to the community two times, complete the homework.

  • No, of course not. I want you to be comfortable while you work through this topic. I will say though that if you’re nervous about opening up, you will be in an incredibly safe environment. If there’s one thing I pride myself on in this work it’s giving all of you a place where you can be completely honest and not have to worry about judgment. Working through this topic with other women is one of the very best things about this program, but your feelings of safety are more important. Also, this is a completely private community. No one outside of the program will ever be able to see the discussion happening.

  • Nope. Through lots of trial and error we’ve found that hosting the community on Mighty Networks is the best option. They have a really user friendly app and because I know that a large majority of our community is no longer on Facebook, this is where we go.

  • During this week we’ll take turns addressing the specific ideas around confidence that each member is experiencing. You do not have to participate in this, but I’ve found in the past that when we can address YOUR specific goals during your specific day, it really helps to move the needle forward for you. Think of this as your own personal coaching.

  • I know that investing in something like this feels like a luxury. But truly, this is investing in YOUR future. Even so, I know money can be tight, especially after the holidays. So I’ve come up with three options for you to make this more financially feasible:

    Pay in full: $225

    3 month plan: $75/month for 3 months

    6 month plan: $37.50/month for 6 months

You can choose any of these during your signup - whichever one will allow this to best fit into your budget.
